Description
Description
Semi-Custom Ear Bud Molds (molds only) — drop in your own hearing transducers. These are the same soft, semi-custom ear molds SRC uses on our Semi-Custom Racing Ear Buds, and custom sold as a set of two empty molds so you can put your existing transducers back in service. Use them to replace worn-out foam tips or to repair a damaged set of custom ear molds without buying a whole new ear bud kit.
$65 per set (one right, one left). Color coded the way racers expect: red = right ear, blue = left ear, so you never put them in backwards in a hurry before the green flag.
Molds only: hearing transducers (speakers), wiring and plugs are not included. Need complete ear buds? See Semi-Custom Ear Buds or Custom Molded Ear Buds.
What comes in your order
- 1 red semi-custom ear mold — right ear
- 1 blue semi-custom ear mold — left ear
- Your choice of size — Medium or Large (select above)
Two ways racers use them
1. Replace old foam tips. Foam tips wear out, lose their seal and get dirty. Swap your transducers out of the foam and into a semi-custom mold for a more comfortable, longer-lasting fit and better noise blocking under the helmet.
2. Repair a set of custom molds. If a custom mold is cracked, torn or lost, you don't have to re-do the whole set. Pull the transducer out of the old mold and drop it into a new semi-custom mold.
How to install your transducers
- Remove the transducer from your old foam tip or damaged mold.
- Drop the transducer into the opening on the back of the new mold (use a long thin needle noise to open the rear hole and slide in the transducer with aquatic tube attached)— red mold for the right ear speaker, blue mold for the left.
- Add a small drop of silicone or glue to hold the transducer in the mold, and let it set.
- Use them as ear buds — plug back into your helmet kit and go racing.
