Radios not working? Follow this step-by-step guide to diagnose crew headsets, helmet kits and push-to-talk (PTT) problems.
Step 1: Test the radios without accessories
Unplug the headset and the car harness and test the radios on their own.
- Radios don't work: check the radio power lights. If there are no lights, it's a battery or radio issue.
- Radios work: go to step 2.
Step 2: Plug in the crew headset and test transmit
- Works good: go to step 3.
- Not working: check the mic and connections, then go to step 3.
Step 3: Plug in the car system and helmet kit. Does the TX light come on?
- Light on: the system is working.
- No light: the circuit is not completing. Check the PTT and the helmet kit.
